Panglima Besar Jenderal Sudirman, one of the greatest generals that Indonesia ever had. I wrote this on my blog as a tribute to him. There’s a statue of him standing on Jenderal Sudirman street in Jakarta, before I was going to Germany, I never realized that the statue exist at all. But now when I saw it, I really respect that statue and knew that the “General Sudirman street” is not only a street name.

In the last 3 weeks I’ve been developing a web services application with Windows SharePoint Services. The Services interface was called via SPAPI (SharePoint API) and the SOAP response messages parsed over JavaScript. In my previous projects so far I always tried to avoid or at least minimize JavaScript codes in my projects. I have never been a fan of client scripting and I think I will never be one (AJAX Frameworks such as GWT or JavaFX are not included here, of course). But for this case, I need a powerful JS-Debugger and I didnt know any, and I started googling it. The result was disappointing, I couldn’t find even a halfway suitable one, not even Firebug.

Emporium Pluit, lagi2 katanya adalah mall baru di kawasan Pluit, terletak persis di seberang Pluit Junction (yg notabene juga mall baru ), di sebelah pabrik Bimoli. Waktu gw kesana masih banyak slot2 kosong. Disini gw makan Bakmi GM, memang enak sih, tapi entah bagaimana kok rasanya ngga seenak di ingatan gw . View dari Bakmi GM ke perempatan Pluit juga gw ambil gambarnya.

Sebetulnya mall ini kalo terletak di Eropa (Emporium, bukan Pluit Junction), pasti termasuk kategori atas, tapi karena di Indonesia banyak saingan mall2 yang bertebaran di seantero ibu kota, maka mungkin (mungkin loh) mall ini akan mengalami degradasi atau turun divisi dari mall atas ke mall menengah, seperti halnya Citraland atau Taman Anggrek.

Pacific Place katanya adalah sebuah mall baru di Jakarta Selatan. Waktu Maret 2004 gw pulang Indo, Pacific Place belum ada, jadi umurnya pasti lebih muda dari 5 tahun. Interior bangunannya dibuat bergaya maritim dengan tujuan seolah2 pengunjung dibawa untuk menikmati atmosfir samudra pasifik, lengkap dengan kapal2 mengambang di atas air laut yang biru

Konon, Pacific Place mengincar kalangan kelas atas sebagai segmen pasar untuk berbelanja disana. Tapi dari hasil pengamatan, hanya sedikit kalangan kelas atas yang betul2 berbelanja, kebanyakan hanya melihat2 dan kadang2 memegang barang yang dijual . Sama seperti mall2 lainnya, perkecualian tentu saja berlaku untuk item makanan terutama makanan franchise.

Udah lama gw ngga ngeblog… banyak proyek pada tahun 2008 sehingga gw musti nunda aktivitas nge blog. Tapi worth it juga sih, selain bonus yg bakal gw terima buat tahun 2008, gw juga blom ambil cuti yg masih tersisa 14 hari dari tahun lalu. Dan tahun ini gw ambil cuti 11 hari, jadi pas deh 25 hari atau selama 5 minggu gw bisa pulang Indo… hehehehe.

Seperti judulnya, gw udah 5 tahun ngga pulang Indo. Walaupun tahun lalu gw sempet kumpul sama keluarga di Aussie karena kakak gw satu2 nya merit, tapi sejak 5 tahun yg lalu (terakhir Maret 2004) gw blom pernah pulang ke Indo. Bisa bayangin ngga perubahan wajah Indo (baca: Jakarta) selama 5 tahun? Pastinya…. luar biasa. Kesenjangan sosial yang makin besar, pembangunan dan poster caleg dimana-mana , serta mall2 keren baru bertaburan di pelosok Jakarta, bahkan ada bbrp mall yg gw liat redundant atau exaggerate (bahasa Jawanya: Redundanz atau Übertrieben ). Gimana ngga exaggerate, coba aja lo pergi siang2 misalnya ke Grand Indonesia, disana lo bakal nemuin lebih banyak penjual daripada pengunjung. Hah?

I got an error message when running JSF 1.1 with JBoss 4.0.5. I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking “why the hell this guy is using such an old App Server”. Most of my clients are big corporates and most of big corporates are using only test-proven solutions and frameworks. So one of my clients decided to use JDK 1.4 for a new project. I’m using JBoss 4.0.5 because it’s the last stable version which compiled and runs under JDK 1.4, based on the matrix. Here is the error:
